Mount Ritter | Acrylic on Panel | 6×6
Today I tried out using acrylic on cold press water color paper, something I haven’t done in a couple of years. I painted the first wash wet into wet, and tris to leave aspects of the base layer showing though. Then I came back with more opaque brushstrokes. I think it’s a good experiment, I like the wet on wet effects. One thing is that it would be useful to find a better way of keeping the piles of paint from drying on my palette—maybe using more water in the stay wet sponge. That way I don’t have to come back and try to color match the base layer later on.
