Otter Rock Tide Pools | Acrylic on Panel | 6×8
Based on a photo from Otter Rock beach, in winter. I tried to use a really limited palette for this, although they were the 4 primaries (azo yellow, primary blue, cadmium red medium hue, and ultramarine, plus white). I’m happy with how it came out, but next time I want to work on being more subtle with the variations in local color, for instance on the rock face, and also varying my brush strokes more.
